Dashbashi Canyon

The Khrami river has cut a canyon through basalt below Tsalka, with columnar rock walls, waterfalls falling from the rim in curtains and a green floor around two hundred metres down, and since 2022 the way most visitors see it has been from above: a suspension bridge some two hundred and forty metres long crosses the canyon with a glass floor along part of its length and a glass viewing capsule shaped like a diamond suspended in the middle of the span. Paths lead down into the canyon for those who want to walk to the waterfalls, and the descent and return take several hours. The development around the bridge is extensive and still growing.

When to go

May to October; the bridge closes in high wind and ice. Half a day. Book tickets ahead in summer; entry is timed and numbers are capped.

Honest expectations

It is a heavily commercialised development with tiered ticket prices for the glass sections. Queues in summer are long. The bridge closes in wind without refunds. The descent into the canyon is steep and the climb back is hard work.
