Svetvincenat is built around one of the most complete Renaissance squares in Istria: on one side the Morosini-Grimani castle with its towers and courtyard, on the others the parish church, a loggia and the town's houses, all laid out as a single composition in the sixteenth century. The castle courtyard is used for concerts and theatre in summer. The town's darker record is the trial of Mare Radolovic in 1632, accused of witchcraft, tortured and condemned - one of the better documented Istrian witch trials, and the town now presents the case honestly rather than as folklore, with the records forming the basis of an exhibition.

Honest expectations
The castle interior is open mainly for events and tours rather than continuously. The town is small and quiet outside summer. Services are limited to a few places on the square.
