Jerudong Park Playground

Jerudong Park opened in 1994 as a gift to the nation, built at a reported cost of over a billion dollars with rides brought in from around the world and no admission charge at all, and Michael Jackson played two concerts there in 1996. It declined through the 2000s as rides were removed or fell out of use, and it now operates on a smaller scale with an entry fee and a water park.

When to go

Year round. Evenings are cooler and the park operates late. Weekends and school holidays are busiest.

Honest expectations

Much of the original park is gone and what remains is a fraction of what was built. It now charges entry where it once did not. Maintenance across the site is uneven.
