Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas

Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas runs along the waterfront in central Bandar Seri Begawan, opened in 2017 to mark the Sultan's fiftieth year on the throne, with a promenade, a golden crown sculpture, lawns and a viewing deck looking across the river to Kampong Ayer. It is where the capital walks in the evening. The Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is visible along the water. The park replaced a stretch of working waterfront, and it was the first substantial public open space made in the centre of the capital.

When to go

Year round. Evenings are when it is cool enough and busiest. Midday heat makes the open promenade unusable.

Honest expectations

There is little to it beyond walking and the view. No shade to speak of during the day. It is small and an hour covers it.
