Serasa Beach

Serasa lies on a sand spit near Muara and faces into sheltered water rather than the open sea, which makes it the calmest swimming on Brunei's coast and the base for the country's watersports centre, where sailing, windsurfing and kayaking are taught and equipment hired. The ferry terminal for Labuan sits at the end of the spit. The beach is broad and shallow a long way out. The spit was formed and then extended by reclamation work for the port, so the beach is partly made ground.

When to go

Year round. The watersports centre keeps set hours and closes on some days. Weekends are busiest.

The beach is functional rather than beautiful and the port is close. Water clarity is poor. The watersports centre has limited hours and equipment.
