Trellis Bay sits on Beef Island next to the airport, a sheltered anchorage with a small beach, a cluster of craft studios and a bar, and it has been an artists' spot since the 1980s. Its best-known event is the full moon party, at which steel sculptures shaped as globes and figures are floated in the shallows and set alight after dark, with fire dancers and a band. It happens every month and is the island's most distinctive night out.
