Tucker House Museum

Tucker House on Water Street was built in the mid eighteenth century and became the home of Henry Tucker, president of the Governor's Council, whose family were central to Bermudian affairs across several generations. It is furnished with Bermudian cedar furniture, portraits and silver, and the kitchen in the basement is presented as it was worked. Joseph Rainey, later the first Black member of the United States House of Representatives, ran a barber shop from that basement during the American Civil War.
