The Shrinathji temple in the Manama souq serves the Hindu merchant community that has traded in Bahrain for around two hundred years, and it is generally described as the oldest Hindu temple in the Gulf, a modest building among the shops rather than a monumental one. It is dedicated to Shrinathji, a form of Krishna, and it functions as an ordinary place of worship rather than a monument.

November to March is the comfortable season for walking the souq. Worship times are when it is busiest and least suitable for visiting. Festivals fill it entirely.
