Falmouth Harbour lies immediately west of English Harbour on Antigua's southern coast, a deep enclosed bay that has become the principal superyacht base in the eastern Caribbean, with marinas along its shore and a run of restaurants and chandleries behind them. The sailing calendar centres on it: Antigua Sailing Week and the classic yacht regatta both use the harbour. The World Heritage dockyard is a short walk over the neck of land.

What you actually see

  • The yacht anchorage - the eastern Caribbean's main superyacht base.
  • The marinas - the berths and services along the harbour shore.
  • The regatta season - the sailing events that centre on the harbour.
  • The dockyard link - the World Heritage naval dockyard a short walk east.

When to go

December to April is the yachting season and the busiest. The regattas fall in April. The harbour is quiet in the summer months.

Honest expectations

Prices around the harbour are aimed at yacht crews and owners. It is very busy during regatta weeks and accommodation vanishes. Outside the season much of it closes.

Nearby

English Harbour is east, and Monks Hill is north.
