Pal sits on the slope above La Massana and is generally reckoned the best preserved village in Andorra, stone houses with slate roofs on narrow lanes that have not been rebuilt in the way most Andorran settlements have, with the Romanesque church of Sant Climent and its Lombard bell tower at the top. The ski area of the same name is further up the valley, which is what most winter traffic comes for.

When to go
May to October is the pleasant season for the village. Winter brings ski traffic through it. Autumn colour in the valley is good in October.
Honest expectations
The village is small and an hour covers it. Ski traffic passes through in winter. Parking in the lanes is very limited.
