Kobba Klintar
A former pilot station on a rock outside Mariehamn, now a summer cafe and gallery.

Kobba Klintar is a rock at the entrance to Mariehamn's approach that carried a pilot station from 1861 until 1972, and the buildings on it, including a distinctive white fog-signal house, were restored by a local association after they had begun to collapse. Boats run out from the west harbour in summer and a cafe and gallery operate in the buildings during the season.

When to go
June to August is when the boats run and the cafe operates. Outside those months there is no service at all. Swell cancels crossings.

Boats run only in the summer months and are cancelled in swell. The site is small and half a day covers it. Facilities are seasonal and basic.
