Bai Xep is a small cove south of Quy Nhon with a fishing hamlet on it, boats pulled up on the sand and thung chai basket boats stacked at the top of the beach. It was effectively unknown until the 2010s, when a couple of small guesthouses opened and it circulated as the quiet alternative to the developed coasts further north; that reputation brought the usual sequence, and resort building has now started on the headlands around it. The village still fishes. It works as somewhere to sit for a day or two rather than as a place with anything to do.

When to go
February to August; the monsoon brings surf and rain from about September. A full day.
Honest expectations
There is very little to do, which is the point but not for everyone. The beach is shared with a working fishery and is not manicured. Currents can be strong. Accommodation is limited and books out.
