Korbous is squeezed into a narrow valley on the western side of Cap Bon where hot springs rise, used since Roman times when the place was known as Aquae Calidae Carpitanae. The village has bath houses fed by the springs, and at Ain Atrous just outside it, water at around fifty degrees pours out of the rock straight into the sea, where people sit in the shallows in the mix of hot spring and cold seawater.

When to go
October to May is the most comfortable; hot springs in summer heat are less appealing. Weekends bring crowds from Tunis. The road is narrow and winding.
Honest expectations
The village facilities are dated and maintenance is poor in places. Ain Atrous is very hot at the source and burns are possible. Weekend crowds and litter at the shore are a problem.

El Haouaria is northeast, and Tunis is across the gulf.
