Argyle Waterfall

Argyle is the highest waterfall on Tobago, dropping in three distinct stages through rainforest a short way inland from Roxborough on the windward coast. A path of about fifteen minutes leads from the car park to the lowest and largest pool, and steeper routes climb to the second and third tiers for those who want them. Guides are provided at the entrance and take visitors up. The forest around it is part of the Main Ridge catchment.

When to go

June to December after rain gives the strongest flow. The dry season from January to May reduces it considerably. Mornings are quietest before the tour groups.

What to expect

Flow drops a great deal in the dry season and the fall can be disappointing then. Guides are effectively compulsory and tips are expected on top of the fee. The climb to the upper tiers is steep and slippery.
