Stendorren Nature Reserve
A group of Sormland coast islets linked by suspension footbridges, so you can walk out into the archipelago.

Stendorren works because of the bridges: a chain of narrow suspension footbridges links four islands out from the mainland, so the archipelago becomes walkable without a boat, which is unusual on this coast. The islands are low granite with pine, juniper and oak, sheltered inlets between them and open sea beyond the outermost. Paths and boardwalks run over them with places to swim off the rocks. A naturum at the entrance covers the Baltic and the reserve. Land here is still rising after the ice, so the shape of the inlets changes on a scale of centuries. It is popular with families and busy at summer weekends.

Good to know
Bridges sway and are not for everyone. Summer weekends fill the car park. The naturum is seasonal. Paths are rocky and can be slippery when wet.
