The southern archipelago is unusual because it is on the city transport network: a tram to Saltholmen and then a ferry, on the same ticket, reaches Asperö, Brannö, Styrsö, Donsö and Vrango in between twenty minutes and an hour. None of them allow visitor cars, so transport is bicycles, small electric vehicles and walking. They are inhabited working islands rather than resorts - Donsö in particular is a shipping community with a serious fleet - with white and yellow houses, rock shores, bathing places and a handful of restaurants. Vrango is the outermost with the longest crossing and the best sense of being out at sea.

Honest expectations
Saltholmen parking is very limited - use the tram. Ferries are busy at summer weekends. Facilities on the islands are few and seasonal. These are working communities, not tourist villages.
