Avicii Arena SkyView

The arena opened in 1989 as Globen, a sphere 110 metres across that was the largest spherical building in the world until 2023, and it was renamed for Tim Bergling, the Swedish producer known as Avicii, in 2021. SkyView was added in 2010: two spherical glass gondolas that run on rails up the curve of the outside to a platform at about 130 metres, taking twenty minutes for the round trip with a few minutes at the top. The view covers the whole city, the archipelago approaches and, on a clear day, a long way inland. The sphere is also part of the Sweden Solar System, standing as the Sun at scale.

Before you go

It closes for events at the arena, so check before travelling. The stop at the top is brief. It is south of the centre, away from other sights. Poor weather makes the ride pointless.
