The Naasa Hablood are two conical hills standing symmetrically side by side on the plain outside Hargeisa, distinctive enough in a landscape of low scrub that they are the city's best known landmark and appear on local emblems. The name is Somali and describes their shape directly. They can be climbed in an hour or so and the plain runs away flat in every direction from the top. A second pair of similar hills stands elsewhere in the region and carries the same name, which causes some confusion.

When to go
October to April is the cooler season and best for the climb. Summer heat on the exposed slopes is severe. Mornings are coolest.
Honest expectations
The climb is over loose stone with no path and there is no shade. There are no facilities. Travel outside Hargeisa needs local arrangement.
