Windsor was opened in 2017 as a buffer between the housing and the central catchment forest, and its main feature is the Hanguana Trail, a boardwalk over freshwater swamp forest named for a plant species found only in Singapore. Trails lead from here into the catchment and to the TreeTop Walk. The park is a reliable place for the greater racket-tailed drongo, the Malayan colugo and, at night, slow loris.

What you actually see

  • The Hanguana boardwalk - a raised walk over freshwater swamp forest.
  • The colugo - Malayan flying lemurs, often spotted flattened against tree trunks.
  • The catchment access - trails linking into the central forest and the TreeTop Walk.
  • The endemic plant - Hanguana rubinea, found only in Singapore, in the swamp.

When to go

Year round; early morning is coolest and best for wildlife. Afternoon storms close the trails. Weekends bring crowds heading for the TreeTop Walk.

Honest expectations

The park is small and functions mainly as an access point to the catchment. Mosquitoes in the swamp section are heavy. Trails into the catchment are long and there is no water on them.

Nearby

MacRitchie is east, and Bukit Timah is west.
