Chestnut covers about eighty-one hectares on the northern edge of the central catchment and is the largest nature park in Singapore, notable for keeping hiking and mountain biking completely separate: parallel trail networks on either side of a stream, so that neither gets in the other's way. The biking trails include technical sections and a skills area. The forest is secondary regrowth over former plantations, with the catchment behind it.
