Rogbonko is a Temne village in central Sierra Leone that has run a small visitor operation for years, with mud and thatch guest huts built in the village style and stays that involve joining what the village does: farming, palm wine tapping, cooking, storytelling and drumming in the evening. There is no road to the door and the last stretch is walked in through farmland.

When to go
November to April is the dry season and the tracks are passable. The rains from May to October make the walk in muddy. Visits must be arranged in advance.

Accommodation is genuinely basic with no power or running water. Visits must be arranged well ahead and cannot be dropped in on. Meals are what the village eats.
