Rawacou is a park on the Atlantic coast near Argyle where the surf comes in hard onto a black sand beach, and behind the beach a set of pools sheltered by rock give somewhere the water is actually safe to get into. Picnic shelters and a play area occupy the ground above. It is used mainly by Vincentians at weekends and it is one of the few developed sites on the windward side.

When to go
December to May is the dry season. Weekends bring local crowds. The Atlantic surf is heavy year round.
Honest expectations
The open beach has dangerous surf and rip currents; only the pools are safe. Facilities vary with staffing and are sometimes closed. Litter is a problem at weekends.
