Golden Rock Plantation Inn

Golden Rock sits high on the eastern flank of Nevis Peak, an eighteenth-century estate whose sugar mill tower was converted into a suite and whose grounds were replanted as gardens by the American artists Brice Marden and Helen Marden after they took the property on. Vervet monkeys come through the gardens constantly. The Source trail starts from near the property and the sea is visible far below.

When to go

December to April is the main season. The inn closes for part of the late summer. Rain on this flank is heavier than on the coast.

Good to know

It is a working hotel and access to the gardens is charged and arranged. Rates are high. The road up is steep and narrow.
