Inema Arts Center

Inema was set up in 2012 by six painter brothers, among them Emmanuel Nkuranga and Innocent Nkurunziza, in a house in Kacyiru, and it works as a gallery, a set of studios with places for about ten resident artists, and a programme of workshops and art classes, with music and dance alongside. Visitors can walk through the studios and talk to the artists, which is unusual and is the main reason to go. There is a bar and garden in the grounds.

How many artists are working on a given day varies. Prices for original work are high by local standards. It is a commercial gallery as much as a cultural centre.
