Cascade Biberon

Cascade Biberon falls around two hundred and forty metres down a cliff face near La Plaine-des-Palmistes, a thin column of water that breaks into spray on the way down, which is where the name comes from: it is said to look like milk from a bottle. A path of about twenty minutes through forest reaches the viewing point below. The fall depends entirely on rainfall and it runs strongly on this very wet part of the island.

When to go

Year round; flow is strongest after rain and this district gets a great deal. May to November is drier and the path is easier. Mornings are clearest before cloud.

Things to know

The path is muddy and slippery for most of the year. Cloud often obscures the top of the fall. Approaching the base is not possible and the view is from a distance.
