Colleen McCullough's Home

Colleen McCullough moved to Norfolk Island in 1980 and lived at a property called Out Yenna until her death in 2015, writing most of her later books there including the whole Masters of Rome sequence. The house sits in gardens off a quiet road with the pines around it. Proposals have been made over the years to open it, but it has remained private and cannot be visited.

When to go

September to May is warmer. Nothing about the site changes with the season. It is a passing look rather than a visit.

Honest expectations

This is private property and there is nothing to visit; you can see the outside from the road and that is all. Do not enter the grounds. Anyone hoping for a museum will be disappointed.
