The Cultural Centre above Little Bay was built with money raised by George Martin, who had run a studio on the island before the volcano, and opened in 2007 as the replacement for what the eruption took. It holds a theatre, a conference space and a wall of bronze handprints cast from musicians who supported the fundraising. It is the island's main venue for performance and public events. The building also houses offices and meeting rooms used by island organisations through the week.
