Xel-Ha

Xel-Ha - "where the water is born" - is a natural inlet where the underground rivers of the cenote country surface and meet the Caribbean, mixing fresh and salt into a vast, calm, fish-rich lagoon. Fresh-over-salt water creates blurry halocline patches - visibility is good, not Cozumel-crystal. The all-inclusive price stings up front and evens out by afternoon. Crowds peak midday at the floats; swim mornings, eat late.
