Copper was worked at Stolzembourg in the Our valley in several phases through the nineteenth century, never very profitably, and the workings were abandoned by 1904. Part of the mine has been reopened for guided visits: a gallery driven into the hillside, with the geology, the working conditions and the history explained, and a small museum in the village. The Our valley outside is the border with Germany and the setting is wooded and quiet.
