The Vilnius TV Tower rises well over three hundred metres, the tallest structure in the country, with an observation deck and a slowly revolving cafe near the top. It is also a place of memory: in January 1991 unarmed civilians died here defending it against Soviet troops, and a memorial marks the sacrifice.
