Eschen

Eschen sits in Liechtenstein's northern lowland on the Rhine plain, one of the older parishes in the country with the Holy Cross chapel on the Rofenberg above it, a pilgrimage site with a fine timber ceiling, and the parish church of St Martin in the village. The Pfrundhaus, a former priest's house, holds a small museum. The Eschnerberg ridge rises just behind. Eschen and Nendeln form a single municipality, so the Roman villa is administratively part of the same place. The parish is one of the two oldest recorded in the country.

April to October is the pleasant season. The chapel and museum keep limited hours. Winter is cold and quiet.

The chapel is often locked and hours are limited. The museum is very small. The village is otherwise ordinary and an hour covers the sites.
