Livu Akvaparks is the biggest indoor water park in the Baltic states, a heated complex of slides, wave pools, lazy rivers and saunas by the pines of Jurmala. It is the region's reliable rainy-day and winter answer, warm and busy while the Baltic outside is cold.
What you actually see
- The big slides - a range of flumes from gentle to steep and fast.
- Wave and leisure pools - indoor and, in summer, outdoor pools.
- The sauna world - a set of saunas and steam rooms for adults.
- Family zones - shallow and play areas for young children.
When to go
At its best as a warm escape in cold or wet weather; summer adds the outdoor pools. Weekends and school holidays are busiest, so weekday visits are calmer.
Honest expectations
It is a modern commercial water park, fun for families but not a cultural sight. It gets crowded at peak times and tickets are timed, so plan around the clock. Prices are on the higher side for the region.
Nearby
The Jurmala beach and its wooden resort town are minutes away; Riga is a short train ride east.
