Prevalla
A pass and small resort in the Sharr mountains above Prizren.

Prevalla sits on a pass at around 1,500 metres in the Sharr mountains above Prizren, a scatter of guesthouses and restaurants on open ground with pine forest around and walking routes running out onto the ridges above. Locals come up for the air and for grilled meat and yoghurt in the restaurants. In winter there is sledging and some skiing. The road up from Prizren climbs steeply. The pass sits on the road between Prizren and Brezovica, which is why it developed at all rather than as a destination in itself.
What you actually see
- The pass - open ground at around 1,500 metres between the ridges.
- The pine forest - the woodland running up the slopes around it.
- The ridge walks - the routes out onto the high ground above.
- The mountain restaurants - the places locals drive up for.
When to go
June to September is the walking season. December to March brings snow and sledging. The road can be closed by snow in winter.
Honest expectations
Development on the pass is haphazard and building has spread. The ski facilities are minimal. Weekends bring crowds from Prizren.
Nearby
Prizren is north, and Brezovica is east.
