Ferrari Museum Maranello

Enzo Ferrari moved production to Maranello in 1943 and the factory has been here since; the museum beside it shows road cars, Formula One machines from different eras, engines and trophies, with displays rotating so the cars change. The Fiorano test track is next door, opened in 1972, and prototypes run on it during the working week, audible and sometimes visible from the perimeter road. A second museum in Modena, in the house where Enzo was born, covers his life and is included in combined tickets. Factory tours are not open to the public; the shuttle bus runs past the gates only.

When to go

Year-round; weekdays give the chance of hearing testing at Fiorano. Race weekends and new model launches bring crowds. It closes on a few holidays.

Things to know

The factory itself is closed to visitors and there is no production tour. Displays rotate, so a specific car may not be there. Simulator sessions cost extra and book out.
