Bradda Head and Milner's Tower
A headland above Port Erin topped by a tower built in the shape of a key.

Bradda Head rises steeply from the northern side of Port Erin bay, and on its summit stands Milner's Tower, built in 1871 by public subscription to honour William Milner, a Liverpool safe manufacturer who had spent years quietly supporting the fishing community. The tower was built in the shape of a key and lock in reference to his trade. The path up from the promenade climbs steadily with the bay opening out below and the Calf of Man to the south.

When to go
April to October for the best conditions. The path is exposed and windy in any season. Clear days give views to the Mourne Mountains.
Things to know
The climb is steep and the clifftop path is exposed with drops beside it. The tower interior is often locked. Old mine shafts on the headland are a hazard off the path.
