Petit Bot sits where two wooded valleys meet the sea on Guernsey's south coast, a sheltered bay with sand at low tide, a loophole tower on the rocks at one side and the remains of a watermill by the stream. A cafe operates above the beach in season. The road down is narrow and steep, and the cliff path runs off in both directions from the bay.
What you actually see
- The loophole tower - the 1780s granite tower on the rocks beside the bay.
- The two valleys - the wooded cuts meeting at the shore.
- The watermill remains - what is left of the mill by the stream.
- The low tide sand - the beach that appears as the water drops.
When to go
April to October is the season and when the cafe operates. Low tide is necessary for any real beach. Winter closes the cafe.
Honest expectations
The beach is almost entirely covered at high tide. The road down is very narrow with limited parking that fills quickly. The cafe closes out of season.
