EntryNature Reserve ticket

The Windsor bridge spans a gorge on the upper slopes of the Rock, a footbridge some seventy metres long hanging around fifty metres above the bottom of the cut, built in 2016 to link sections of the upper Rock paths. It is a straightforward crossing but the drop and the view out over the bay while you are on it are what people come for. Macaques use it as much as visitors do. It was built partly to make the upper Rock more walkable and partly as an attraction in its own right.

What you actually see

  • The span - around seventy metres across the gorge.
  • The drop - roughly fifty metres to the bottom of the cut.
  • The bay view - the outlook west while crossing.
  • The macaques - the monkeys using the bridge along with everyone else.

When to go

April to October is the mild season. The bridge closes in high wind. Access is through the Nature Reserve ticket.

Honest expectations

The bridge closes in strong wind, which is frequent. Access requires the Nature Reserve ticket. It is a short crossing and takes minutes.

Nearby

The cable car top station is south, and the Skywalk is nearby.
