Salto de Socoa

The Socoa river drops over a rock ledge into a wide pool near Monte Plata, with more pools upstream and downstream and rock ledges around them, and it functions as a river bathing place rather than a scenic waterfall: the fall itself is modest and the water is what people come for. It is close enough to Santo Domingo that weekends fill it with families, and food stalls set up along the bank.
