Aqualand Moravia stands beside the Nove Mlyny reservoirs at Pasohlavky, below the Palava ridge, and runs on thermal water drawn from deep under the Moravian plain. It is built for volume rather than charm: indoor and outdoor pools at different temperatures, a long list of slides from gentle to genuinely steep, wave and current sections, and a separate sauna world with a dozen or so cabins and a timetabled programme of steam sessions. The outdoor pools stay open through winter, which is the best time to use them, sitting in warm water with cold air on your face. Tickets are sold by time, and the clock starts the moment you pass the gate.

What you actually see

  • The thermal pools - indoor and outdoor basins fed by warm mineral water from a deep borehole.
  • The slide tower - the block of slides, from family tubes to steep single chutes with timing gates.
  • The sauna world - a separate ticketed area of cabins with scheduled steam and aroma sessions.
  • The winter outdoor pool - the heated open-air basin used in cold weather, with steam over the surface.

When to go

Winter and shoulder seasons are the best value, when the outdoor thermal pools work at their best and the crowds thin. Weekday mornings are far quieter than weekends and school holidays. Arrive at opening to get a locker near the pools. Check the sauna programme in advance if that is what you are coming for.

Honest expectations

It is loud, busy and unashamedly commercial, and on a wet Saturday it is packed. The time-based pricing penalises anyone who lingers, and overstaying costs extra at the exit gate. Slides queue heavily in the afternoons. Food and lockers add up. Parts of the sauna world are adults only and some sessions are textile-free, which not everyone expects.

Nearby

The Palava ridge rises just south, and the Nove Mlyny reservoirs and Mikulov are a short drive away.
