Seru Largu is a low hill just inland of Kralendijk with a paved road running to the top, and from it the whole west side of Bonaire lays out: the town below, the reef line offshore, Klein Bonaire sitting flat in the channel and the salt pans running south. A cross and a monument stand at the top. It is the standard place to watch the sun go down on the island. The hill is low, around a hundred and twenty metres, but Bonaire is flat enough that it is enough.

What you actually see

  • The Kralendijk view - the town spread below on the coast.
  • Klein Bonaire - the flat uninhabited island in the channel offshore.
  • The salt pans - the white works running down the island's south.
  • The monument - the cross and marker at the top of the hill.

When to go

Year round. Late afternoon into sunset is the reason most people drive up. Midday is hot and hazy.

Honest expectations

It gets crowded at sunset and parking at the top is limited. There are no facilities. The view is the whole of it and an hour is plenty.

Nearby

Kralendijk is below, and Rincon is north.
