EntryFree; limited weekday opening

Palm Grove is a private estate in Devonshire whose owners open the gardens to the public on weekdays: lawns, palms, a moongate, an aviary and a formal pond in which a relief map of Bermuda is laid out with each parish planted as a separate grass island. The house itself is not open. It is a small and quiet visit, and the estate asks that it be treated as what it is, someone's garden.

What you actually see

  • The island pond - a relief map of Bermuda laid out as planted islands in the water.
  • The moongate - the Bermudian circular stone arch in the grounds.
  • The palms and lawns - the planted grounds around the house.
  • The aviary - the bird collection kept in the garden.

When to go

Weekday mornings and early afternoons only; it closes at weekends and on public holidays. Hurricane season runs June to November. Opening should be checked.

Honest expectations

It opens on weekdays only and the hours are short. The house is private and not open. It is small and takes under an hour.

Nearby

The Arboretum is north, and Hamilton is west.
