Orchid World and Tropical Flower Garden

Orchid World sits in the interior of Barbados on ground that was sugar land, laid out with several orchid houses holding a large collection of species and hybrids, and paths running through a coral rock gully, palm groves and planted beds with views out over the cane fields toward the coast. The orchid houses are the point; the rest of the garden fills a pleasant hour. The garden opened in the 1990s on land that had been in cane, and it holds several hundred orchid varieties in total.

December to May is the dry season. Orchid flowering peaks vary by species through the year. It keeps set hours and closes on some days.

Honest expectations

Orchid displays vary considerably by season and can be thin. The garden is small and two hours covers it. The entry fee is high for the size.
