Ffryes is a curve of pale sand on the southwestern coast below a bend in the road where a viewpoint looks straight down onto it, which is why the beach appears in so many photographs of Antigua. A beach bar at one end has become a fixture. The water is calm on the leeward side, the beach is broad and there is very little development beyond the bar and a car park at the top of the track.

When to go
December to April is the dry season and the busiest. Weekends bring local visitors. Hurricane season runs June to November.
Honest expectations
The beach fills at weekends and on cruise days. There is almost no natural shade. The track down from the road is rough.
