Naturlandia

Naturlandia occupies the forest at La Rabassa above Sant Julià de Lòria and is built around the Tobotronc, an alpine coaster running some five and a half kilometres down through the trees on rails, with a drop of around four hundred metres, which is among the longest of its kind anywhere. An animal park, tubing runs and cross-country ski trails share the site, along with a network of forest paths.

Background

Naturlandia spreads over more than 100 hectares of hill slopes at altitudes of 1600-2000 metres. It lies in Sant Julià de Lòria, a parish in the south of Andorra that stretches beside the Gran Valira River. The parish covers 60 square kilometres, takes in 11 villages and had an estimated 9,915 people in 2023, which makes it one of the least populated in the country. In the 20th century it was a major centre of tobacco processing, and a tobacco museum now occupies the old factory, which worked until 1957. The Sant Serni de Nagol Church in the parish was built in the 11th century CE.
