EntrySmall charge

The Bridal Veil Falls drop around fifty metres over a rock face in the forest above Chimanimani village, spreading as they fall into the thin curtain the name describes, into a pool used for swimming. A short road and then a walk of a few minutes reaches the base. The setting is indigenous forest and the water is cold. It is the standard local excursion from the village and a picnic site sits below the fall.

What you actually see

  • The fall - a drop of around fifty metres spreading into a thin curtain.
  • The pool - the cold basin below, used for swimming.
  • The forest - indigenous woodland around the stream.
  • The picnic site - the ground below the fall used by local visitors.

When to go

December to May after the rains gives the strongest flow. The dry season thins it considerably. Weekends bring local visitors.

Honest expectations

Flow drops a great deal late in the dry season. The road in was damaged by the 2019 cyclone and repairs have been slow. Facilities are minimal.

Nearby

Chimanimani village is east, and the national park is beyond it.
