The springs at Binh Chau rise through a set of pools in a forest reserve behind the Ba Ria coast, and the temperature range is the site's characteristic: the hottest pool reaches around 80 degrees or more, hot enough that the standard demonstration is boiling eggs in a basket lowered into it, while the bathing pools downstream are cooled to usable temperatures. The water is mineralised and the site has been developed as a spa resort with mud baths and treatments. The surrounding Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu reserve protects one of the last coastal lowland forests in southern Vietnam.

Honest expectations
It is a commercial resort and everything beyond entry is charged separately. The hottest pool is fenced for obvious reasons. It is crowded at weekends and holidays. The forest reserve is largely separate from the resort area.

Ho Tram and Ho Coc beaches are south; Vung Tau is west.
