Glacier 3000

Glacier 3000 sits at just under three thousand metres on the Tsanfleuron glacier, with a station designed by Mario Botta, and its distinctive feature is the Peak Walk: a suspension footbridge about a hundred and seven metres long joining the View Point summit to the Scex Rouge summit, opened in 2014 and described as the only bridge in the world connecting two peaks. From it a long list of Alpine summits is visible on clear days. The glacier itself carries a summer snow area and a dogsled run, and an alpine coaster runs on the mountain. The ice here has thinned markedly and rock is appearing where snow used to lie year-round, which the operators now discuss openly.

Honest expectations

Cold and wind at this altitude are severe even in August, and the bridge closes in high wind. Cloud removes the view with no refund. Prices are high. Altitude affects some visitors.
