Torekov is at the western point of Bjare, a small fishing village of white and yellow houses that became a summer place without being rebuilt as a resort. The morning dip at the Kallbadhus is close to an institution here: people go in at set times whatever the temperature, and the ritual has its own etiquette. Offshore lies Hallands Vadero, a nature reserve island of about three hundred hectares with old broadleaf woodland, seals hauled out on the rocks and a bird station, reached by a small boat from the harbour that runs frequently in summer. The Bjare coastal path passes through, and Hovs Hallar's cliffs are along it.

Honest expectations
The island boat is seasonal and weather dependent. Water temperatures are low even in August. Summer parking is difficult. Out of season most of the village closes.
