Jamtland Triangle

The triangle links three Swedish Touring Club huts - Storulvan, Sylarna and Blahammaren - with legs of roughly eight to seventeen kilometres, and it works because the distances suit a day each and every night has a bed, food and a sauna at the end of it. That combination makes it the busiest mountain route in the country. The ground is open fell above the treeline with the Sylarna massif on the Norwegian border in view for much of it, boggy in places and bridged where necessary. Blahammaren's kitchen has a reputation of its own. In late winter the same route is skied. Huts must be booked in advance in summer.

Honest expectations

Huts fill in summer and must be booked. Weather changes fast above the treeline and the route is exposed. Ground is wet in places. It is popular, so solitude is not what this route offers.
