Kapoeta

Kapoeta sits in the dry southeast of South Sudan on the road toward the Kenyan border, the main town of Toposa country where cattle, beadwork and body decoration remain central to how people present themselves. The Singaita river runs beside the town and gold is panned in the country around. The Didinga hills rise to the southwest and the plains stretch east toward Kenya. The town sits on the route that runs east into Kenya toward Lokichogio, which has made it a trading point.
